Recognition Characters
Anterior shield of carapace is slightly longer than broad, cup shaped. Eyestalks are swollen at base, tapering towards cornea. Antennular and antennal peduncles reaching or exceeding eyestalks. Chelipeds unequal in males. May be equal in females. Chelipeds are covered with fine hairs and mostly organized rows of spines. Carpi are also covered with spines.
Color
Walking legs are each characteristically colored with 6 rust-red or maroon longitudinal stripes on prodopus, carpus, and merus. Carapace is scattered with red and white.
Habitat & Depth
Reefs, shelly or rocky bottoms.

This is a very small hermit crab.
