Size

Shell Length: 1-2 cm (0.25-0.75")

Recognition Characters

Shell is dome-shaped and broadly ovate. Back of shell has three pairs of irregular dark brown spots. Body whorl has strong parallel riblets running from obscure groove on dorsal side of shell to lips on underside.

Color

Pinkish to pale purplish, darker above thickened margin.

Habitat & Depth

On or near ascidians. Intertidally to water 50m depth.

Distribution at GRNMS

Rare.

Geographic Range

North Carolina south to Brazil
