Recognition Characters

Whorls are slightly angular with six major beaded cords on each section. Each whorl is separated by shallow unbeaded groove/canal. Lacks umbilicus.

Color

Reddish brown with dull cream vertical banding on lower whorl.

Habitat & Depth

Rocky, hard, sandy substrates or bottoms. To 60m.

Distribution at GRNMS

Locally abundant when found.

Geographic Range

North Carolina south to Florida. Gulf of Mexico to Texas
