Other Connemara Crew Members Lost

The following crew were also lost on the Connemara.

John Beever, Wireless Operator of Woodland Mount, Bradford Road, Huddersfield.

Richard Roberts, Seaman of Hen Blas, Newborough, Anglesey.

Owen Pritchard, Seaman of 36 Chapel Street, Amlwch, Anglesey and the son of Mr and Mrs Pritchard. He was aged 38.

Robert Owen, Seaman of Carreg yr Eithin, Newborough, Anglesey.

Richard John Jones, Fireman of Oxford House, High Street, Bangor.

Elias Jones, 2nd Officer of Elanfa, Mona Street, Amlwch, Anglesey and the son of Mr and Mrs Richard Jones of Chapel Street, Amlwch. He was the husband of Mrs Ella Jones (nee Lemin). Elias married Ella on the 12 April 1915 at Holyhead Registry Office.

Richard Hughes, Seaman, aged 20, of Min y Ffrwd, Llanfair PG, Anglesey, was also reported as lost on the Connemara. However, he is not recorded on any crew lists reported in newspapers at the time. It has been suggested that he may have been paid off from the SS Bessbrook at Newry and was on the way home as a passenger. He is remembered on the War Memorial at Llainfair PG.
