John Hughes, Cook

John Hughes, Cook, Mercantile Marine, HMHS Anglia. Lost at sea due to enemy action, aged 28, on 17 November 1915.

In 1911, aged 22, he lived with his widowed mother, Mary Hughes (53) and sister Mary (15) at 2 Front Bath Street, Holyhead. Also at the house were 2 lodgers, Frank and Elizabeth Bell. He was employed as a Ship's Cook for the LNWR.

His mother Mrs. Mary Hughes later resided at 45 Aked Street, Stockport Road, Manchester.
