A guide to editing

Any edition requires to be logged in as an editor. To be added as editor, please send me (Hiaen) a message with a working email address (preferably a gmail).

If there’s an AU or HC in there that you’re invested in, and you want to make the corresponding part cleaner, PLEASE GO FOR IT I’M BEGGING YOU. No need to ask me beforehand.

All of this is nearly pure copy/paste, so there are walls of texts, either no paragraph breaks or random paragraph breaks, typos everywhere, abbreviations, non-neutral turns of phrases, and the thematic grouping of the info is rough at best. All this can be edited for better readability.

Additionally, some parts - I’m mostly thinking the quotes in Archives - can be edited with bold/italic letters so it’s easier to read.

If you’re really feeling it, you can re-write the whole desc part of an AU with a clear organization, a little intro and everything.

As a general rule, the more sections, the better. Some examples of decent organisations are Daud stays at the Academy AU, which is organised chronologically, or Corrupting Mark AU and Supernatural creatures AU, which are both organised thematically.

At the end of the day, it’s up to you to organize this file as you see fit - and even if you’re not certain of what you’re doing, I guarantee you that it will always be better than nothing.

If you’re editing a hc/au that was not originally made by you, you can give a shout in the server to the AU’s creator.

Also, for serious AUs and elaborate HCs, give credit where credit is due when using them/building on them. Some things on this file are the results of server-wide brainstorms, but not all. Some of those are the result of many thoughts and efforts by their creator, and they might have their own ideas about where they want the AU to go. In case of doubt: best to ask.
