Hiaen: I don't know, they have to untie him when he fights, so they probably have a way to handle him untied for short periods of time? I never understood that part, do they have like, an enclosed fight space for him? Bc if it’s just in that ring we saw he could.... blink away lol

Wait, he has access to his powers when fighting? I just thought he was power-restrained in permanence, and he had to fight strictly barehanded. Because without his power he may be the fucking Knife of Dunwall but he's also just a 57yo guy, so he's restrainable.

Edge: True but he also has the physical capability to like, literally kill people so it’s confusing

Tanaka: his powers make him immune to poison and such, but since his connection to the void is fading maybe they manage to sedate him just enough to control him?

Edge: I was thinking that too, like a poison or maybe void dampener, but they say that he is still void touched in the ring and is moving like, super fast and shit so I don’t think they dampened him? And the minute you disengage the suppressor he has NO problem killing/taking care of the people at the ring.

I’m not sure if he has like, powers like pull or stop time but he is said to like move “inhumanly fast” which he could only do if the suppressors were off. Same as when overseer boxes play you can’t do double jump

Tanaka: probably would make more sense if the suppressor still worked in the ring/while he is out of the cage.

Hiaen: Maybe the power suppressor doesn't affect some of his passive/non-mana consuming powers? [unlike the ancient music? Does it work on a different mechanism???]

Like his superhuman resistance or strength, or if he had movement upgrade it could explain his speed.

Potes: he's gonna be a pretty shit "black magic brute" if he's got no black magic

Edge: Other people can use the void in the ring (like bonecharms and shit). That’s probably a good guess he can use non powers, more agility and stuff. If he still had health boost could explain how he lasted so long. Not sure how they would rig that up, but it’s interesting

how do you think they like, took care of daud?

hiaen: I guess they let him out of restraint a couple times a day with still the power suppressor on? Or maybe some restraints, but not fully tied to a chair. I'm really wondering about how they shaved him and cut his hair though. There's no way they let any kind of blade anywhere in his vicinity

[conversation devolves into talking about waxing: “Seems like a lot of work overall when they could just let him have a beard”]

Hiaen: They just put him in The Chair, tied his head down and force-cut his hair. When the suppressors were on their he was SO out of it, like he doesn’t even recognize Billie

Pip: tbf i feel like if someone had a straight razor pressed up against daud's face, he could have as much murderous intent as he wants but if he starts wiggling hes gonna get cut, possibly quite badly.

Ferox: especially with the suppression field on and restraints and all

An addendum, re: Daud's hair horns:

Potes: Was just thinking... When you find daud in the geezer chair 2.0 he's got his hair slicked back. Which means 1. Daud's hair is just magic like that or 2. One of the eyeless did his hair. 2 would prove why he has no hair horns

Hiaen: I think it's 2 because I want someone to blame for the tragic absence of hair horns
