Morgan and the Sun
I keep thinking about it and Morgan loving the sun, like the colors and the warmth and the associated happiness.
Morgan loving to see when the sun's out, especially since in Dunwall it's less common, both bc of the general Br*tish weather and the industrial smoke, so when it's a clear nice sunny day? He stops literally EVERYTHING to go outside and just sit somewhere and enjoy a book or smth.
Morgan loves spring and summer. He loves the flower smells and the bright emerald green leaves that glimmer when the sunlight passes through them and he'll sit underneath a tree in the manor garden for literally the whole day if Custis doesn't nag him to come back in for dinner.
One of his favorite pastimes is to just sit underneath a tree and read. It's so cliche but he loves the vibes. Also Pendleton manor has an orange tree!! Morgan tries to sit underneath it sometimes whenever the fruit isn't in season (bc when they're ripe they'll just drop and hit him on the head).
Whenever Morgan is just having a good day, he'll just lay out on the grass and take a deep breath, taking in all the newly blossomed flowers and their scents. He loves closing his eyes and feeling the sun's warmth on his skin, and he's taken so many naps just sprawled out on the garden.
Morgan getting excited for when it's orange season bc he loves picking the fruit outside in the garden, like Custis at first thinks it's kind of silly/weird "Picking fruit? It's a commoner's job, not some sort of hobby." But Morgan's just so happy out there in the sun just picking goddamn fruit. He just loves the feeling of taking a fruit right off the tree and peeling it and eating it
Morgan just vibing in the sun.... custis doesn’t have to check the weather anymore bc the instant he sees Morgan face with a splitting grin that doesn’t go away all day he knows it’s a sunny day. He will probably end up getting a sun burn but fuck it he just loves the feeling of sun on his face. Custis being like "hey idiot at least put on some sunscreen" before tossing a bottle of it at him
Morgan literally dragging Custis outside to enjoy the day and angsty Custis is just >:( I feel like altho Custis doesn't enjoy the sun as much, when Morgan forces him to just lie down and close his eyes, he enjoys it very much, that is until an orange drops right onto his nose. Morgan laughing at him and instead of getting angry or annoyed he laughs along with him.
Morgan and Piers
Usually they don't visit the piers at like Dunwall's beaches or anything, at least not often enough bc it's so far away, but whenever they do Morgan's just so excited?? He loves the smell of the seawater and seeing those little crabs in the sand and the schools of fish swimming at the edge of the pier, and the sun shining down on the water that makes it look like it's made of diamonds.
And he's always so excited to see what the local fishermen have caught/put in their buckets, he loves asking what they've caught, and only sometimes is he asked to bugger off (most of the fishermen are actually quite friendly!) Morgan becoming friends/acquaintances with a LOT of the fishermen at the pier bc he holds such good conversations with them. Talks about the tides and the fish and the environment. Custis meanwhile doesn't mind it, he thinks nothing special of it, but he loves seeing Morgan get so excited and pointing out everything he sees. Morgan learning about fishies and ranting to Custis and Custis just listening bc he has no idea what Morgan is saying but he’s happy!! Morgan infodumping about fish on the ride there and Custis just sits and listens. Morgan going to like tide pools and just 👁. Morgan in Serkonos going snorkeling. He doesn’t get many chances to see the animals like alive and in nature so he’s literally !!!!!
Custis and the Rain
Custis loving the rain bc thematic opposites with Morgan but also like, he loves?? The sounds?? Custis being such an auditory focused person and the sound of rain is just so fucking good for him. Helps him focus, helps him sleep. And he loves the smell too, he loves the smell of fresh rain.
He'd have a special umbrella bc like he constantly goes outside whenever it rains, he loves the sound of the rain hitting the umbrella, and wet splashes of concrete as he walks down the street, the smell of dew and the cool breeze of a dreary Dunwall autumn. Every single time it rains (which is usually quite often) he always finds an excuse to go outside "I have to...pick something up in Parliament!" He'd have special gay little rain boots.
Custis liking to stay warm inside with a sewing kit and cup of tea but secretly wanting to run around in the rain. Whenever Custis is just stuck at home/after he went outside he just brews himself tea (a special earl grey SPECIFICALLY for after rain-walks) and he sits at his desk by the window per usual. Whenever he can't focus or he wants a little eye break from looking down at his papers for so long he'll just stare at the window, watching the raindrops crawl down the window and hear the wet rustling of wind and trees outside. When ever it rains Custis being torn between productivity bc he knows he does so much better when it’s raining or just relaxing and enjoying the day and the sounds of rain.
Also the idea that Custis, loves the rain, HATES thunderstorms, mostly bc they're distracting and oof ouchie my ears. Custis with audio sensitivity issues <3
Custis and Snow
During the winter when it's too cold to rain and snow is covering all of Dunwall, Custis still just loves the vibe of staying at home cozied up with a hot cup of something (sometimes tea, sometimes hot cocoa, it depends on whether Morgan made cookies or not) if he's feeling extra cold he loves wrapping himself up in a blanket too (one he made himself!! Love him for that!!)
Even though rain will always be his favorite weather thing, he still also likes snow. He retains that childlike excitement of waking up in the morning when it's still dark out and checking to see how much snow is out on the ground. I love the idea that Custis is usually like, pretty stoic but the moment snow is involved he activates silly mode and is just such a dork like he also does the thing of sticking his tongue out to lick the snowflakes and stuff. Custis in front of people forcing himself not to lick the snow bc it’s not polite. Custis on his own in the yard running around with his tongue out. And the twinkle in his eyes whenever he's sitting at his desk and he looks outside his window and it's starting to snow.
On snow days when the fresh snow is just perfect for playing in, he calls is a break day and he'll go outside to just. Fuck around. Custis will just plop straight onto the ground and feel the cold snow on his back and the sensation of snow forming around his arms as he moves them up and down. Custis bundled up in jackets and scarves just vibing outside in the snow. He loves doing the cold smoke effect. It's like one of those rare Pendleton dork moments that usually Morgan has "Morgan look, I'm smoking!" And Morgan just chuckles with him bc his bro is having a good time.
Morgan usually joins him in these, despite the fact that he absolutely hates the cold and would rather be inside baking. He loves seeing his brother unwind and be happy so it's much more worth it to stack up a few more layers and help his twin make a snowman.
Sunny rainy skies
While I was outside (for once) and coming back home from my doctor's appointment, the sun came out but it was still raining/cloudy, so it's that nice mixture of having the sun and also having dark clouds/rain, it's literally my favorite type of weather, topping even just regular sun.
Okay so the hc part, whenever it's that weird mixture of sun and rain, both Morgan and Custis are vibing bc it's ya know, both of their favorite weathers combined. Morgan likes it because it feels so poetic, it's his peak writing weather bc he just feels the VIBES. Custis likes the smell coupled with the fact that it's the best of both worlds.
