Daud being incredibly frustrated that he's starting to need cheaters around doto. Like, the mark keeps him very sharp and fit like he's 30 years younger but things do start eventually to go and he hates it

Billie realizes he needs them once she finds him and shows up one day back on the wale like "hey old man stop squinting at the fuckin' cork board in low light and just use these. I can tell"

GOD but daud being in complete denial as well. billie is just like. u never USED to need to squint like that to read a board 2cm away from ur face r u SURE u dont need glasses??

He does take them and use them but he's grumbly about it and tries to hide that he's using them if billie's around, even though he has to admit they're very helpful and the fact that billie bough (stole?) them for him is nice. Show your affection by stealing some reading glasses for your assassin dad who pretends he doesn't need them.

She does eventually catch him using them when he doesnt take them off fast enough when she comes in and she just gives him a Look. Doesnt say anything and keeps walking through but she Knows. OH what if. she catches him using them bc he fell asleep reading abook w them on

Meanwhile, corvo immediately acquired cheaters the moment he realized his correspondence was getting tougher to read and has perfected the withering over-the-glasses Look he gives Emily sometimes because he's not a macho fool who's going to suffer for no reason (either blurry handwriting or his daughter's antics). Besides, Emily says they make him look dignified

corvo got glasses maybe in his mid 40s?? as soon as the words on the page were getting more blurred and harder to tell he was like Welp

dauds glasses r cracked bc he kinda forgets about them. Billie has a couple extra pairs that she not so subtly swaps out on his table like when your child's goldfish dies. Or honestly she's just have a cabinet and be like "get a new pair urself dude"

daud doing that thing like WHERES MY GLASSES when they are on top of his head. sometimes he ends up wearing 2 pairs bc he doesnt register hes already got a set puished up. billie walking in on daud pouring over a newspaper w 2 (two) sets of glasses on. someone gets him the chain you can put on glasses to wear them as a necklace but he still forgets. So he has one on his neck, on top of his head, and wearing a pair normally

Billie has a monocle. Billie wears dark sunglasses that hide the rock, and when she pulls them off for a dramatic reveal there is a second pair of sunglasses underneath because she is just that cool

ALSO related 2 sight but slightly diff but daud ALWAYS squints in the sun, regardless of sunglasses, glasses or not

That's only distantly related but I have a headcanon that Daud has trouble with high luminosity environment and prefers slightly shady places; by extension he has pretty good night vision.
