Blue: HOW the FUCK did i never NOTICE dishonored SHARK? elasmobranch!
it looks like the same model as the big fish on the table in the boyle mission but idk the top one got some countershading going on and i am looking respectfully. also missing 2nd dorsal fin??? but also might have been cut off. its defo a shark thats it thats the post
the pectoral fins r more similar to sharks than say bony fish, more set back from the head. inch resting that the designers added the lil barbells like a goatfish to the front. wonder what the purpose is when the shark has sharp teeth so would feed on like free swimming fish, like a goatfish has barbells to rake up sediment and eat things in there (like tiny crustaceans i think). Some sharks DO have barbells btw, but like not sharp-toothed-higher-in-food-chain ones. like nurse sharks have small barbells but they eat like lobsters, echinoderms, octopus and stuff, not boney fish and have a diff set of teeth
also the size of the shark!!! defo a Big Boy Predator. like there are other sharks that don’t primarily feed on fish (eat say crustaceans and molluscs) w different teeth morphology
*looks at caudal fin* also looks like the dorsal section of the caudal fin (aka the tail) is larger than the bottom, which can tell u about swimming/life style tho i can remember EXACTLY. But i think a tail like that suggests its more of a bottom dwelling shark??? compared 2 say a great white which has a symmetric tail. mind u that isn’t a rule of thumb *looks at the thresher shark* so ignore that thought. anyways with tails, i think that ones tail is like, good for speed?? bc it still has a pronounced dorsal section just smaller than the top
also the fish on the table st the boyle party could (???) also be??? but also just be another random fish but they used the same model or what idk i need 2 look more closely. also the shark is missing a lot of fins in that first pic (excluding the dorsal which has clearly been cut off), like pelvic fins, 2nd dorsal fin,,,,
Pip: i think the shark has barbels bc dh team thinks barbels are cool
see: whales
Blue: yea defo
arkane designers: how do we make sure everyone knows this is a dishonored animal??
arkane designers:....
arkane designers: waIT I KNOW lets add some ~sexy barbells ;))
judging by size and morphology its not local to gristol
Pip: too lorge? wouldn't work in dunwall river? Or? it looks like a fuckin ... catfish head. Smth abt its head looks like an armoured catfish. STURGEON ITS HEAD LOOKS LIKE A STURGEON! it’s the whiskers, and the pointy lil triangle nose. u kno what it has that fuckin lateral line lookin prominence as well..... dishonored sturgeonsharks
Blue: YEAH id assumed the boyle fish was a sturgeon. So like the pectoral fins are a lot more Shark Like™ as is the dorsal fin - im gonna look more at boyle fish but Doubt Shark Probably Sturgeon Thing, but yeah
anyways dishonored shark not local here we go. it's a large predatory shark and basically u dont get species like that near the UK. it would be possible for a great white to live here but never reported, u do get porbeagle sharks but not (close relative to great whites), there's been sporadic reports of threshers and u do get blue sharks in the irish sea... so MAYBE but in general british sharks are either small (e.g. Squalus acanthias, the spiny dogfish, portuguese dogfish too) very deep and weird (i want 2 say u can get blunt nose/6 gills and there has been reports of greenland sharks in scottish waters). the large surface species u get here are the basking sharks which eat plankton
it looks like a pelagic species (ie one that lives in the water column) and yea
