I didn't expect the loyalists' deaths to have so much pathos, they were bastards, yeah, but still… the fact that Martin shows what appears to be genuine remorse before shooting himself? I was pretty much doing the surprised pikachu face and pendleton was just losing it...
Pendleton losing his damn mind in hc lighthouse is so fucking funny he's like FUCK IT, man finally got courage. pendleton going 'FUCK YOU MARTIN' and laughing all the while is a mood
I think tho Cecelia does mention in lc that Pendleton kept apologizing and stuff, but in hc he goes crazy goes stupid
And MARTIN!! Like, aside from daud, he's the only character to show true remorse for his actions? like there's no snark or anything really from him
as morbid as it sounds I wish we could have seen them being poisoned. Like maybe instead of them being dead already you walk on them about to toast each other, and if you just watch their dialogue they eventually die
they toast, u see their realisation they r being poisoned, they CURSE havelock
pendleton probably BEGGING for an antidote or something. pendles would go into theatrics as he died
martin just like FUCK YOU
I can't imagine Martin accepting a drink from Havelock without going HMMMM. Martin only drank it because he knew if he didn't, Havelock would probably shoot him
in this amendment, martin doesn't drink at first, pendleton does and dies, havelock points a gun at martin.
Maybe if Corvo arrives at this point, earlier than he does in-game, could there be a non-lethal for all of them? You could always just interrupt the dialogue in theory, what would they all do?
martin does a speech about idk feeling bad about corvo
Yeah, Martin does show some regret - and in low chaos, they're in the lighthouse, Corvo's coming for their asses, and they have a 10yo child they can hear banging on the door asking to be let out - I wouldn't blame Martin for voluntarily drinking poison here
Maybe Martin pulls an og Havelock and like accepts the fact that his fate is determined by Corvo (whether he'd either get killed right there or put in prison).
martin wouldn't offer any resistance in low chaos... martin offering corvo his pistol/sword
that's in line w his character/a low chaos version of his high chaos interaction where he does corvo's job for him
