The maiming process is slow though. Like slowly pulling someone’s eyeball out. I guess snapping someone’s bone isn’t too slow.

Young Daud who just started killing for nobles instead of gang members, and has to face a customer pool who look down on him and is much more likely to think they can get away with not paying. because like, gang members in general know that the one you do not want pissed off at you is the assassin thats freelance anyway. meanwhile a noble sees some commoner they got to do the dirty work for them, and its like "eh, lets see what we can get away with we're better anyway". also nobles generally being entitled and thinking they can get away w it, daud quickly, swiftly and brutally letting them know its his rules

He'd get creative. hed probably teae down what they hold dear. Maim them, keep them locked up in atrocious pain for days, steal everything that isn't nailed down and burn the rest to the ground. He'd be the definition of disproportionate retribution. Daud burns one of the noble’s house down,,,,
i think daud accepts that in some caes theyll refuse to pay him so he steals as much as he can and destroys the rest, so they have no home, no livelihood, nothing but ashes and dirt
hed do lots of different things too to each one who crosses him,, unpredictable ans chaotic. "ha he wont be able to do x to me like he did to other noble!!" daud: *does something conpletely different, takes a different approach*. tehy cant prepare, they cant increase guards etc bc they dont know what daud will do, when or how
He’s also quick to teach people that trying to fuck him is NOT a payment method
Sometimes he doesn’t even bother to go himself, he just sends a couple of whalers and boom it’s done. It's nearly a good new when someone skips on payment because they can really let lose. that whmould be a power move, not even doing it himself bc he doesnt view the noble as worth his time. Theyd be pissed, that they, a noble, wasnt worth the time of the knife
