Daud isn’t COMPLETELY immune to poison and the world’s deadliest poison to him is what a sleep dart is to his whalers. Imagine thinking you killed the Knife of Dunwall for him to wake up 4 hours later and he’s like “wow that was a sweet nap”
It takes like 20 regular sleep darts to make him pass out and at 15 he’s like “I still feel fine?!?!”.
18 sleep darts in, "hmm slight headache"
At 19 he’s like “I’m starting to feel a little smt”
At 13 sleepdarts he feels giggly, at 15 sleepdarts he starts dancing and singing, at 17 sleepdarts he starts being an angsty fuck, at 19 sleepdarts he’s an unstoppable blubbering mess and at 20 he just passes out

Billie is the one that experimented on this. She wanted to only make him sleep but she just kept going and going and going and started to get amused at his drunken state and to just see how much he can take. It becomes a competition between the whalers to see how much they can poison him before he notices
He knows how different poisons taste. Someone poisons him and he's like "oh nice??? this some Pandyssian Snake Venom shit?? for free??? thank u"
Daud puts a little bit of poison in his drink to give it a kick. The real reason he hates alcohol is because he drinks straight venom. Daud gets captured and wants to poison himself to get out of it but he can't "DAMNIT". Slackjaw once tries to poison him during a meeting for a contract and the entire bottle street gang watches him drinking enough poison to kill a whale while looking at slackjaw dead in the eyes
if having poison intolerance is just a marked thing and Corvo drinks the loyalist poison and instead of dying just starts crying on havelock's shoulder. The loyalists decide not to betray Corvo after seeing him high bc they realise just how sad he is. also because they try to kill him manually and it doesn’t work
Painkillers:
Headcanon that Daud's poison immunity includes a resistance to painkillers. Patching him up is a hassle, not only because it's painful for him, but also because he'll reflexively twitch and react to escape the pain and the bastard's strong. He once accidentally knocked the medic out while he was getting stitched up.
Part of the reason he collected so many scars is because it's impossible to stitch him up cleanly, unless you knock him out with a blow to the head. When you anesthetize someone before operating, it's to spare them the pain, but also to paralyze the muscles and make the doctor's job easier... Here, it's impossible. He's learnt to keep pretty still, but some muscular twitches you just can't control. And when he's really hurt and delirious with pain, they need to restrain him or else he'll make his state worse and might kill someone without wanting to.
what if the medic was like "ok i get you're a hardman but you need anaesthetic" and he's there like "no look, you're not listening; it doesn't WORK"
Headcanon that the whaler medic figured out a sleep dart that works on daud. its absolutely lethal on anyone else. They give him a REALLY strong dose of poison. That just knocks him out
the whalers have to deal with off-his-face high daud if it doesn't knock him out
daud has become very good at coping with pain, bc he has had to. Not so much a high pain tolerance but. He still feels it. He can just compartmentalise it very well. Like. Daud walking off with a pretty nasty wound that would have other ppl on the floor in pain bc how else will he get away, yes it hurts like a bitch but *shrugs*. never having painkillers work, he gets used to it when needed
the poor guys has to live through migraines and headaches without relying on painkillers
what if billie learns abt this and then makes a point of trying to talk daud through him getting stitches to distract him from the pain. he never tells her about it, and she doesn't have to do it, but she does.
more fun, daud having stitches after billie's betrayal (maybe even doing them himself) but she's not there to talk him through it. oh that last bit, daud trying to patch himself up after the corvo fight. Thomas or Rinaldo try to talk him through it, and he's grateful and it works but it's not quite the same and it really hammers in that Billie's gone. or daud even snaps at them/ sends them away
billie helping old man daud out with his injuries etc post-escape from the chewbacca baths and she subconsciously falls into the old habit of chatting to him while daud is like (;. not to be fave on main but meaganbillie doing the same to emily after having to patch her up and em is like ??? this is the most you've talked to me this entire time

Havelock: tries to stab Corvo
Corvo, quickly disarming him while still talking: “-and the rats just continue to ignore me I don’t know why-“

The medic: Sure, buddy [gives him enough painkiller to kill a horse and Daud's still awake] ok I get it
Daud: wakes up with a headache
Daud: FUCK
daud, gripping his temples: kids i am begging you to SHUT UP you know i can't take painkillers
