honestly i feel theres a level of Tragedy with young jindosh, before he went yknow all evil all whatever. like,,, hes chronically misunderstood as a child which leads to him doing Fucked Up and Evil shit that might not have happened if he had been given Support as a Child????
if people didn't treat him like he was evil as a kid he wouldn't be Evil now I think.
he was 16 when he went to the Academy...that's baby
like. he didnt deserve that. fucked up actions or no, he was hurt as a kid
fear of otherness reinforced by the abbey's doctrines
CONSTANTLY thinking about how his mother hated him and he was raised by his “bastard brother”
his mother HATED him and that makes me so fucking sad. like what an environment for a nd child to grow up in?? he just needs love!!!
on one hand jindosh makes me uncomfortable as he skirts very close to a stereotypical unfeeling clinical/evil "savant"-type neurodivergent who does evil things because he's smart and weird and freaky and Not Normal and bad-bc-he-has-no-empathy, and boy is that not helped by them Using Electroshock Therapy To Lobotomise Him (aka two incredibly notorious and horrible things that have been done to neurodivergent people throughout history). but also like. as a character in-universe, uncomfortable writing (temporarily) aside, i really feel bad abt the treatment and abuse he received growing up and how that must've shaped him into the person he became
y e ah -- jindosh is heavy on the Not Neurotypical tropes and i [grimace] in the wider context of the game. The demonization of neurodivergent people in dh2 is .....it's Bad
his non lethal is REALLY extreme in the context of the other targets - like breanna just loses her power (ok i suppose jindoshs mind IS his power but????) it fucking destroys his entire life! good god
Lich rally Jindosh's non-lethal is my own personal nightmare like??? I would hate to lose my intelligence it's the only thing I got going for me
and when u do it and he cries out in fear???? its absolutely irreversible and like. Permanent
lays down. he’s fucked up and evil but he’s the victim of circumstance and i just
breaks my heart that when you put him in the machine he pleads with you to like turn it off and he will cooperate, it would've been so easy to knock him out and kidnap him like Sokolov from DH1
WHY can jindosh a) be recruited or b) just get locked away for the remainder of the game or something??
I said it before and I'll say it again, trapping him in his own house would've been a thematically fitting action given how much they sold us this maze/puzzle Clockwork Mansion and in tone with Dishonored 2 more Disney endings for the bad guys (except Jindosh)
Like sabotage his house from within the walls and lock him up until you are done and can go back to deal with him
Imagine the kind of blow it would be to him after trapping people to die in the mansion for years to end up being trapped there himself but yeah ok or we can lobotomize him yeah that's fine Arkane thanks
