Thinking about the dh literature and those musical duos. Its great because although we only have a handful of songs, we get a decent grip about what folk music in at least gristol and serkonos sounds like

Mining towns have the staple "oh fuck the mine collapsed and everyone died" and shindaery would have "girl help the tunnels keep collapsing, plus some void fuckery". Serkonos probably has a version of the tarantella but with bloodflies instead of spiders aka "help i've been bit by a bloodfly, and if i do not dance i will die, alas:". serkonos also has "local boy makes good as a blood ox herder, dies heroically/tragically".

Thinking about folk music again, like morley has absolute bops where the tune is kinda energetic, and you look at the lyrics and it's "all my loved ones and friends are dead because the gristolian navy fucked us up (epic fiddle solo)". Im gonna say it now, a decent chunk of some morlish songs are call and response, some of them are random nonsense syllables then "good they've stopped listening lets talk about revolution". Lilting! It's common in irish folk music irl, so it would be interesting to incorporate into this hc!
