Description:
One day before a mission, Billie goes to a bakery to buy some goods with her spare change and brings like a nature beignet to Daud because she didn’t know if he’d like the ones with chocolate in them and he’s like “after this, I’ll bring you to my favorite bakery” and that’s how she found out that Daud actually likes sweets.
And from then on Billie makes sure to buy some patisserie for herself and Daud before a mission
It feels odd when she’s gone, because it’s the first time in YEARS where he has to go on a mission without eating a beignet first
Daud sneaks some sweets and chocolate to his office from the whaler cafeteria because he knows Billie enjoys eating while working
Fic plot:
Billie wakes up in the middle of the night.
Another night, another nightmare.
She gets up and looks at the clock; quarter past two, not even the break of dawn yet. She’s surprised Galia hasn’t woken from her bunk bed with Billie’s sudden screaming and shuffling. She must be wearing some sort of ear piece, or she’s one heavy sleeper.
Billie gets up. No use in going to bed now, her night terror still lingering in her mind. She puts on her shirt and puts on her boots, no need for the coat tonight. It’s a mild summer night, not too warm but neither too cold, it’s nice. She greets the sentries as she approaches Daud’s office.
It was an unspoken thing between them. She hates to admit it but she finds comfort around him. Just being around him gave her a sense of safety. He knows that, always have. Ever since he took her in and gave her a pinch of attention, she wouldn’t leave his side. He didn’t know what to make of it at first, overwhelmed by her clingy-ness but he understood. So he always kept the door for his office and room open 5 inches. But he isn’t there tonight.
As far as Billie knew, he didn’t have a contract today?
Something... smells nice. She sniffs the air... it smells like... chocolate? She walks towards the smell, sniffing as she goes. She arrives to the kitchen, and there’s Daud. And was he... cooking something?
She leans into the doorframe and crosses her arms.
“What are you doing?”
Daud jumps. Billie’s one of the few whalers who can sneak on him.
“I’m uhhh... making chocolate... pudding...?” Daud replies. He must’ve thought that it was embarrassing because his cheeks flush.
Billie knits her brows in surprise. It wasn’t something she... expected but, good for him.
“Need a hand?”
