Description:
hi i'm here to talk about how sick and useful dark vision/ void gaze could be bc i've been rewatching daredevil
please take some time to imagine a fight scene w any one of the marked where they take out all the lights and fight using dark vision. they know they're outnumbered and can't fight everyone alone, so they just go "fuck it can't fight me if you can't see me" and boom
or. also cool. they've only got one shot left in their crossbow/ gun and rather than using to to shoot the ppl they just shoot the light and bam
also thinking about one of the marked being like "i could fight you blindfolded" and then like the little shit they are cheating with dark vision and winning
what if fighting blindfolded was a whaler training thing to control dark vision (if they get that). like when a whaler explains the other how to feel where he wants to be in the room to blink, instead if actively just looking, or something like that.
Especially because in those masks it's hard to see all around. You get 2 peep holes good luck. Dark vision for whalers on lookout
First the training is simpler navigation in the dark as their vision 'clears', and then come the actual fights, having to read rapid, sudden movements. And like, catching object thrown at them, which could be sharp to have a weight to the situation. From throwing bottles to blades
that's so fun with the whalers but even MORE fun with corvo and emily who are supposed to be high society and not able to catch flying sharp objects that they couldn't even see. Just a casual father-daughter hanging out with sharp objects. Emily dodges at first then fucking catches and YEETS it back at Corvo
interesting use for pull. since you can use pull on inanimate objects, could you use it to pull buildings towards you, or other incredibly heavy satructures? if no, then could you pull yourself towards anything that's too heavy to be pulled towards you? i'm imagining whalers using pull to travel across the citry like spider man
there’s probably a limit. Daud's mana consumption increases with the weight of the things Pulled. a small object is 20% of the mana bar, a body is 40%. so there's probably a weight limit where you just don't have enough mana
And I guess you could use Pull to yeet yourself like Far Reach, but for the same result Transversal has better reach, lower mana consumption, is stealthy and allows you to stop time to aim.
Daud attempts to pull a building and just instantly blacks out
that gives me thomas vibes ngl. He attempts to pull himself up to the ceiling in Daud’s office, instead the rafter/beam comes to him so he not only passes out but also creates the fabled hole in the roof
if a whaler chugged blue elixir while using pull could they grab a building
what if two whalers tried pulling each other. top ten science experiments gone wrong. *distant wet dismemberment sounds happen at once*. that or troll physics happen
thomas had the idea and he asked billie so many times that she wa slike fuck it fine, and then suddenly she's in fuckin outer space like thomas how did this happen
Archives:
billie: why don't you wear a mask
daud: because i actually quite like seeing
daud who can sense whenever his whalers use void magic: okay I don’t know what the fuck just happened but I need to check on them
daud: okay the job requires use of heavy machinery to blend in.
