I cringed so hard when one of the guards dragging Corvo (was it Ramsey? I don’t think it was) was like “did I really take orders from this bastard?” And the journals specifying that Corvo was easy to blame for the coup in DH1 because he was the first and only Serkonan Lord Protector.
also so yikes at those assholes going 'corvo is the first protector born outside duwall AND the first to murder his charge?? coinkydink?? I think not!'
when pendleton says corvo HAS to have noble blood in him cuz he’s so polite… oof. even wallace thinks corvo MUST have blue blood 'cause of some bullshit reason (can't remember)
it honestly like hurts 2 read the blatant racism/xenophobia aimed towards corvo and non gristolians in general in dh like damn they world build well. like that heart line about geoff and how they never let him forget his serkonan heritage
I always get so HGNNN when during the prison break down in the tunnels 2 watch guards talk about Corvo and one of th says something like "They are all merchants and whores" about Serkonans and I'm sitting there like *several knives*
These are Geoff's colleagues, they talk freely about this there so I don't think they ever really hold back when talking to a serkonan fellow Watchman, only maybe if he outranks them
And Corvo is lord protector for a reason, please, he could snap you both in halves. But it's ok because at least that guy got torn apart by rats for his blatant racism. Rats do not stand for racism
OUGH they call him a serk too. Certified dishonored slur
All of the Noble Gristols all look like they’re 3 seconds away from calling Corvo a slur
i still want to know what happened after the coup when it's like "um actually corvo is innocent" bc it says people RESIGNED after writing shit about corvo
also it's telling that dood still considers himself serkonan even after living most of his life in dunwall
yeah but thats like heritage and stuff isn't it? like i wouldnt read into daud considering himself serkonan bc he is?
The thing abt Daud is that he never felt like he belonged in Dunwall. He never WANTED to go to Gristol, it wasn’t his choice
can the same be said for corvo since he was sent as a “gift” .....
yeah yeah this this, corvo is shown to sorta want to go to dunwall but that's 1. in the context of his sister wants to go and he wants to go too (probs 2 be w her) and 2. he thinks dunwall will be so much better than home
he really latches onto the fact that corvo is serkonan too, he's... proud? happy? whatever, he feels something about that connection
Like no matter what type of person they are, seeing someone from your own heritage like, it feels familiar, they just :eyes: at each other kind of
It’s funny how Corvo wanted to go away from home but Daud never wanted to leave his home
