Billie,, doesn’t get the hang on Daud’s shared powers for the first few years and it just randomly comes and goes like on impulse and when it’s needed (like an anime protag) and that’s why she starts training with Daud.

There are these two buildings that are far apart from each other. Daud can easily jump and blink between them and he wants Billie to do it. She can’t, falls and Daud just tells her to get back up and try it again. The thing is. Those buildings are in the path. Every mission they HAVE to cross those buildings over. So it’s essential that she learns how to get over them.

Months pass and pass and she’s making progress but not quite there yet. She practices alone, she practices with Daud, and one day, she manages to pull it off. She feels like time slowing down, the breeze in her hair, the sun in her eyes, and she steps foot next to Daud who was always standing on the building in front of her. Daud has the biggest proudest smile, and Billie is the proudest she’s been of herself in years.

She’s whooping and screaming “YES” and then realizes that Daud’s there staring at her and then suddenly fixes her posture and says “I mean- I knew I could do it.” In a serious and monotone voice
