Description:
ok so u know how callista says after u save geoff how geoff is a good man and one day he'll show it?? can u imagine if the game had a later level where geoff featured again if u saved him, and if so would assist u in a minor way? perhaps something similar to stilton in dh2. so not a massive game changer but a small hint that makes ur life easier... it would be a good way for the game to further emphasise the aspect of choice and stuff and show that doing something good can sometimes help u out later idk
ALL RIGHT so this is VERY GOOD because-- since Geoff is a skilled watchman, a good captain, and the general not knowing about the situation between Campbell and Curnow, he could assign Geoff to the Tower Squad because Hiram wants the Best Protection, it makes sense to have the best officers there. Geoff would not be keen on protecting Hiram but he's there on order, on duty. If Callista reaches out, then I could see her telling Geoff that he can trust the masked felon if low chaos and to be vary of the felon if high chaos, and based on that Geoff would react to Corvo. Low chaos Geoff would be helpful, telling the player that the vents are a good way in because they go everywhere around the place, if moderate high chaos, then Geoff would be distant with Corvo because of the warning, and he would say stuff like the felon can find his way inside, but there are alarms ahead, not really helping Corvo, and maybe very high chaos, IF Geoff still lives, would alert other guards if he spots the felon
or even if like. u could meet geoff somewhere (say callista knowing hes working there, maybe he can help) - find geoff and he gives u a clue or smthng or a key to like a maintenance entry point or smthng. u could also (in a situ where geoff died if u r evil) say steal the key or smthng BUT in this way, it would just provide another piece of evidence that idk u r doing Good
YES!!!!!!!!! Low chaos Geoff being cooperative because he trusts Callista's judgement, back to Callista assuring Geoff ina letter or an audio message thet TMF can be trusted, plus this is the man who saved his life, and apparently tries to fix a rotten system. I feel like Geoff is a person who serves the city, the actual people of it, and tries to fulfill orders accordingly. When wrong orders happen, he would do stuff in his power that could get him into trouble, say, help the "terror of dunwall". Also these events being too big for him to comprehend is why he would lean on Callista's judgement against the very clear orders of TMF having to be caught. Callista is not corrupted, she's risking her life to help this man apparently, her judgement has always been clear, something Geoff admired about her, her heart is at the right place, do, so he wouldn't do any less than that either. Curnows...
High chaos, however, hoo boy. If he lived, Geoff is colder, almost hostile, battling both the system and The Masked Felon, just trying to do what's right in a rotten place like that. and this is where--
meeting geoff in later levels -> perhaps more is pessimistic about the state of the city, idk a man who is trying to maintain his standings in a hell hole, Geoff in later levels saying things indicating hes losing hope.... specifically for high chaos?
if u met a geoff at the lighthouse in high chaos,,, callista would be dead and maybe he heard (idk heard martin/pendleton let it slip). imagine an angry geoff, who has nothing left to lose and playing the game as a good man has brought him nothing but loss. high chaos geoff
OH maybe in high chaos geoff, who still has the respect of his guards, can storm an attack to distract martin and pendleton (and may die in the process it s ai fihgting so), leaving corvo with an easy way pass
but theres so many ways this could go!! like i love the idea of low chaos geoff, optimistic - callista is alive, corvo is bringing an end to the tyranny, and the plague isnt getting too much worse. theres an end in sight. HM also, i feel like low chaos geoff would be MORE helpful too - like putting more thought in even if the outcome is the same
but high chaos - pessimistic, things just keep getting worse no matter what and so on. high chaos geoff on the lighthouse island - hes tired, he wants it to be over, he can see corvo is there to end it, but geoff doesnt know if he wants to live in this new world. so many are ill. he leads a final charge (perhaps a valiant one, perhaps foolish) and may die a hero
But what if it's like Geoff trying to actually make Pendleton and Martin stop fucking fighting already because while they are at each other's throat, Havelock is up there, doing god knows what, with Emily. Even though he's high chaos, I feel like he would still try to do his job, and as a watchman it's to keep peace, so he does not stand for the inner fights, and gets caught in the crossfire and dies then and there. so like geoff TRYING to stop the fight but both martin and treavor get angry at him and it turns into a full fight - martin vs geoff and co vs treavor
geoff leading a few loyal men, geoff standing in the middle of the courtyard telling trevor and martin to stop fighting, everything is so fragile, this isnt what the new era of the empire should start with. i think its also important that geoff would b tired and have so little hope left at this point
OK but what if. geoff absolutley 100% dies in this high chaos scenario??? idk smthng smthng ur last ally gone. Yes, I would say he dies. Like Sam, if you don't kill him yourself, he probably dies anyway of the plague. Everyone is just gone. It just makes sense for him to die, everything that is good perished and BOY was he good. ALSO u could add in high chaos havelock line about how corvo has "no one left on his side" or smthng if geoff dies
Just imagining Geoff in high chaos, trying to get the fight to stop, and he sounds exhausted. None of that upbeat attitude from when you first met him and he's telling you about the voyage being nice and about Callista. Even though everyon he once loved is gone, he is still going because it's the only way he knows, because there could be a future for others and it depends on these idiots fighting over scraps. At this point he's just doing it for anybody else, because he's now just a watchman, that's everything he is, not an uncle, not a brother, not a son. Just Captain Curnow trying to do what's right with his last breath.
Haha wait hey what if. His Tyvian lover and him kept writing letters to each other and stayed friends and in high chaos the lover dies too and the letters either stop coming, or one comes that states the lover's death while on duty and [gets shot]
You could find the letter in game. GOD YEAH - maybe u only find out tho from a note in say the guards break room or smthng - in high chaos, the note is informing geoff of andreis his tyvians lovers death, in low chaos its a letter FROM his lover saying he hopes the plague is over soon so they can be reunited
