Hello everyone,
I am writing to share my sincere gratitude for your continued support of the dental program at our school this year!
I have been involved with this program for the past 4 years at our school, with the program being available to our students 3 times during that time period. I wanted to let you know that this was, by far, the best and easiest year we have had in partnership with this program.
Thank you!
In previous years, we sent paper registration forms home, and ensuring they were returned fully completed often meant weeks and many hours of follow up by school staff. Because of that experience, I truly hope we never return to paper registration again. Plus, we saved some trees. The online registration process, paired with families coming to the gym for the Smile and Sign event, worked incredibly well. We were no longer chasing forms, and my staff and I did not need to enter information afterward into a Google document. It was such a relief to have paper copies completely eliminated this year.
I also would like to mention that the majority of parents who attended our Demonstration of Learning night held the same evening as Smile and Sign, also visited the gym to register for the program. We even had a few families who followed up by going to the U of A afterward to complete their documents. Thank you for accommodating these circumstances.
While we understand some government funding is now available for children’s dental care, many of our families, particularly those new to Canada, are unfamiliar with how to access these services. Others are balancing multiple jobs and find it difficult to schedule appointments. Even with the government funding, we are incredibly grateful that you continue to provide this valuable support to our school community. It definitely allows access to dental health care for our students.
Thank you again for everything you do. We truly appreciate each of you and the care you provide in supporting our students’ health and well-being.
Warm regards,
Suzanne
