Hooray! 🎉
Thank you for your cooperation with this important safety measure throughout the pandemic but it is time to say goodbye to the FFW form! Beginning Monday June 12, 2023, the School of Dentistry community is no longer required to complete and submit a Fit For Work form prior to attending an AHS location.Â
Please contact the HSE Coordinator with any questions or concerns.
Double Hooray 🎉
In keeping with the discontinuation of the Fit For Work form, we are also discontinuing the use of the COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire for patients.Â
Beginning Monday June 12, 2023 you will no longer be required to ask patients COVID-19 screening questions nor document a COVID-19 screening in the patient's Electronic Health Record.Â
Please contact the HSE Coordinator with any questions or concerns.
Due to the updates regarding COVID-19 policies, we are now able to relax some of our IPC requirements related to the use of face shields. Beginning Monday June 12, 2023, eye protection consisting of glasses with solid side shields and brow flanges can be used instead of face shields in the Simulation Lab and OHC. Please ensure that loupes have the side shields and brow flanges in place.
Please note that standard prescription glasses do not provide enough protection for the eyes and need to be supplemented with side shields and brow flanges, safety glasses that fit over the glasses, or a face shield. Â
Please contact the HSE Coordinator with any questions or concerns.
Recently we have had a number of questions seeking to clarify when to measure a patient's body temperature. Although we are discontinuing COVID-19 screening that involves measuring each patient's temperature to rule out COVID-19 infection, body temperature should always be measured as part of a complete set of vital signs.Â
Whenever you are measuring blood pressure, pulse & respirations on a patient, you should also be measuring temperature and documenting it in the patient's Electronic Health Record. If an electronic vital signs machine is used to measure vital signs, the oxygen saturation should also be measured and documented in the patient's Electronic Health Record.Â
A complete set of vital signs involves measurement and documentation of blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature, pulse oximetry (when readily available) and a random blood glucose measurement for all diabetic patients.
Please contact the HSE Coordinator with any questions or concerns.
Please ensure curing lights are placed back into the composite cassettes when returning used items to the Soiled Counter. Your help with this is greatly appreciated!
Please contact the MMC Supervisor with any questions or concerns.
Please ensure to clear the way of hazards before the patient arrives, ensure that they are walking beside or half a step behind the patient whenever they are in the clinic, including if they visit the washroom.Â
Please see this for upcoming opportunities to have something different for lunch at KEC!
