Dear Staff, Faculty and Students,
Thank you so much for taking the time to attend our short, but very important IPC meeting. If you weren’t able to attend, you can review the recording here. The meeting access passcode is yS9^5KKX.Â
We covered a lot of ground in a very short time in this meeting so we thought we would send out a review of the expectations outlined during the meeting. If you have any questions or concerns, please email Dr. Altabtbaei or Ronna Richardson-Lozano at dentIPC@ualberta.ca.
Ensure that you have reviewed the IPC modules, taken the IPC quiz and submitted your attestation statement. Click here to visit the IPC Modules in Dentranet
Be mindful of your own IPC / PPE compliance when in the clinic or simulation spaces.Â
Model ideal IPC / PPE so that those around you are able to see and repeat what you are doing.
Be gracious, if someone offers constructive criticism of your IPC - try not to be offended. Instead be grateful that they have helped you improve your level of safety & protection!
If you see something, say something. A short respectful conversation at the moment you notice someone isn't following IPC / PPE rules is the most effective way to help change behavior.
Be prepared to talk to someone more than once.
If a person is still not following our IPC / PPE standards, then file an IPC Infraction report. Here is a link to the form if you'd like to bookmark it or create a shortcut on your phone: IPC Infraction Report.
Send emails or have meetings with your team to discuss IPC expectations.
Have each person re-visit our IPC Learning Modules site to review each module content, complete the IPC quiz and submit an attestation statement to you.
Click this link IPC Modules, Quiz & Attestation Tracking to put each of your team members name, role & email address* (*only needed if they don't routinely use their @ualberta email) and if they have submitted their attestation to you or not.
Check-in with your team, observe them when they are in clinic or simulation lab and offer IPC support as needed.
Have IPC Questions, Concerns or Positive Comments? Email dentIPC@ualberta.ca.
Sincerely,
Dr. Khaled Altabtbaei, IPC Officer
Ronna Richardson-Lozano, IPC Coordinator
