Started in 1993, 123Dentist has grown from a single practice in Vancouver to more than 400 supported clinics and 7,000 team members across the country. 123Dentist offers alternative partnership models to meet the needs of each dentist, including the opportunity to retain ownership of the clinic. This unique model enables supported dentists to focus on providing optimal care to patients, while an experienced team provides a wide range of support services.
Dr. Zahra Gangji embarked on her journey in dentistry with a strong foundation in science, earning her undergraduate degree in Microbiology from the University of Manitoba. She went on to complete her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 2008, laying the groundwork for what would become a distinguished career in patient care, education, and community service.
Immediately after earning her DMD, Dr. Gangji joined Stony Plain Dental Centre as an associate in 2008. Demonstrating exceptional leadership and dedication to patient care, she transitioned from associate to clinic owner in 2010. Under her ownership, the clinic has undergone remarkable expansion, growing from 5 operatories and 7 team members to a thriving practice with 16 operatories and a team of 30+ professionals.
Her commitment to excellence in dentistry and cutting-edge technology has been instrumental in providing top-tier care to patients. She takes pride in educating patients about oral health, integrating the latest advancements in dentistry to enhance both understanding and treatment outcomes.
Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Gangji is deeply invested in the future of dentistry. She serves as a clinical instructor at the University of Alberta dental facility, where she mentors and trains aspiring dentists. She is also a guest speaker for the A.I.R. Program and an elective course instructor at the University of Alberta, sharing her expertise and passion for patient-centered care with the next generation of dental professionals.
A true advocate for giving back, Dr. Gangji is recognized as a community leader who actively contributes to the growth and well-being of her town. Her clinic won the Stony Plain Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Award. She has personally and professionally donated over $500, 000 in time and financial support to local schools, sports teams, missions, and charitable organizations across the province and country. Her philanthropic efforts extend beyond Canada, as she has participated in volunteer mission trips to South America and the Dominican Republic, providing essential dental care to underserved populations. Additionally, she continues to offer free dentistry services within her own community, ensuring that quality oral care is accessible to those in need.
Amidst her professional achievements, Dr. Gangji is most proud of her role as a mother to two wonderful children, Imran and Samira. She balances her thriving career with family life, embodying the values of compassion, leadership, and lifelong learning—values she instills in both her family and her dental team.
Through her dedication to dentistry, education, and philanthropy, Dr. Zahra Gangji continues to make a profound impact on her profession and community.
