There is now a new section in the axiUm Links Guide specifically for patient instructions. Please print and provide appropriate instructions to patients, as required. These instructions should be printed by Treatment Providers and collected at the Dispensary.
Since these documents may undergo minor edits from time to time, staff is requested to not print documents in bulk in advance.
Recently it has been observed that some Treatment Providers are forgetting to flush their dental unit water lines (DUWL) prior to setting up their operatories. This is a critical step in ensuring that our patients are not exposed to pathogens that may have grown in the stagnant water sitting in the water lines when the chair is not in use.
Flushing DUWLs is the first step in setting up an operatory for patient care or peer clinics in the morning, afternoon or evening. If unsure of the process for flushing DUWLs, please approach the HSE Coordinator (Ronna) or any of our dental assistants for guidance.
Please ensure all perio-related recalls are accurately entered in the EHR Recall Card. Inaccurate entries significantly impact day to day operations for those responsible for scheduling patients, not to mention how inaccurate data negatively impacts consistency of patient care.Â
DDS Students - please ensure patients who are classified as "Perio Cases" have had a Perio Exam (01502) treatment planned and completed in axiUm. Please see this Perio Workflow for additional information.
Please ensure patients are donning masks once treatment is completed as some patients are making their way out to Patient Services without a mask.
