Major grants are now open for applications - Fall 2025
The goal of the major endowment fund is to support high-quality, impactful research in the Mike Petryk School of Dentistry that may subsequently be supported by extramural grant capture. These grants recognize the creativity and innovation that are at the heart of all research advances related to the specific endowment funds.
We have three large grants that support research funding for craniofacial biology, community and population oral health, and orthodontic studies. The school has a Generic Terms of Reference, which highlights the eligibility, funding, and award conditions of the major grants. See the sections below for full details of the grants and their specific terms of reference. When there are differences between the terms in this document and the terms in the Specific Terms of Reference, the terms associated with the Specific Terms of Reference will prevail. The annual call for major grants will be announced in the Fall. Special calls may be announced in the Spring (subject to fund availability).
Download the appropriate form and submit it to the Research Coordinator at dresadm@ualberta.ca.
