Congratulations to Dr. Carlos Flores Mir for being named among the top 12 reviewers for the third consecutive year (2011, 2012, and 2013), in one of the biggest Orthodontic Journals - American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics (AJO-DO).

The AJO-DO relies on a dedicated cadre of associate editors and reviewers who generously give their time and expertise to the journal. Before an Original Research article is published, 2 or more reviewers read it and, in most cases, offer the author suggestions to strengthen the article. When major changes are suggested, we might send an article back to the same reviewer for a second or even a third review. A peer-review journal like the AJO-DO could not function without these valuable contributions.

In 2013, the AJO-DO received 886 new manuscript submissions. Our editors issued over 2000 review requests, and we received 1512 completed reviews from 429 different reviewers. We are indebted to all reviewers who participated in this peer-review process. In January and July, we update the list of reviewers who reviewed at least 1 article in the preceding 6 months. However, many reviewers complete more than 1 review in a 6-month period, and we turn to a few contributors once a month or more. We are especially grateful to these reviewers who give unselfishly of their time and expertise to enhance the quality of this journal. This year, we are proud to recognize the Top 12 AJO-DO Reviewers for 2013 for their extra efforts on behalf of orthodontists around the world.
