Thesis Preparation

and Procedures

All students in a thesis degree program must present and defend a thesis embodying the results of their research. The topic of the thesis must have been approved by the student's supervisor and supervisory committee respectively.

More details on preparation, requirements, and deadlines can be found on the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research (FGSR) website.

Note: The deadline to submit your list of potential examiners for a January defense is Dec. 1.

Thesis Preparation and Formatting

The thesis must be written in English. The FGPS Minimum Thesis Formatting Requirements document establishes the minimum academic criteria for master's and doctoral theses.

Students are responsible for formatting their theses. Failure to meet the formatting requirements may result in a thesis being rejected.

Thesis Submission

After your final examination, you will make any required revisions as directed by your examining committee.

Use the Thesis Submission Checklist to confirm that your thesis meets all the listed criteria before submission.

Submit Supporting Documents

Complete and send the following documents to the FGPS (2-29 Triffo Hall), or scan and email the document to your FGPS program services advisor.

These documents must be received before electronic submission of your thesis.

Thesis Deposit - Electronic Submission

All theses are submitted electronically into the thesis deposit. FGPS recommends you submit your thesis a minimum of 3-5 working days before any deadline, as corrections may be required.

Follow this guideline on how to submit these into the thesisdDeposit.
