All clinical students/grad students/residents/faculty/staff are required to complete the Clinical Preparation Course before participating in activities in the OHC.Â
Despite working diligently over the last year with FoMD Facility Planning & Projects, who in turn works with vendors and suppliers, we regret to inform you that the KEC Student Locker project has been delayed by factors outside of our control. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
In the meantime, as we await the installation of lab kit lockers in the KEC Student Lab, please use shelves for lab cases only - please store equipment in assigned lockers. Given that locker installation may occur at any time, please be prepared to vacate shelves in the KEC Student Lab at a moment's notice.
DDS I & II students are asked to use their assigned lockers in Kipnes until additional lockers are available for their use in KEC.
Due to shipping issues, the Additional Pouring/Mounting Stations project in the KEC Student Lab has been delayed. We are hoping to have stone and plaster drawers, as well as vacumixers, installed on the dry side of the Student Lab near each of the three sinks as soon as possible.
In the meantime, these three additional stations/sinks can be used when mounting cases - please use plaster from the hopper on the wet side of the lab. Thank you for your patience.
Patients requiring impressions for diagnostic purposes must first undergo intraoral scanning with the 3Shape Trios Intraoral Scanner.  Impressions for diagnostic casts may be taken, if required, only once intraoral scanning is completed and saved, The resulting diagnostic casts DO NOT need to be scanned as the intraoral scan has already been completed and saved.
3Shape Trios intraoral scanners are available from Dispensary.
Please note that storage boxes for lab cases are now available in the Prosthodontics Laboratory.
DDS III & IV students, GPR residents and clinical grad students are responsible for managing any after-hours dental emergency that their assigned patients may experience. Students must advise their patients to contact them directly in case of after-hours emergencies (evenings and weekends). For more information, please see the Emergency Care section of the OHC Clinic Manual.
Students must provide their patients with a card (located in dispensaries) which will instruct them to call 1-888-436-2112 and an extension number (student’s axiUm provider number) which will forward the patient's call to the treatment provider's personal cell phone number. This call forwarding mechanism will be inactivated during extended breaks including Fall Break, Winter Closure, Reading Week, end of Winter Term until start of Intersession Term, Summer Break.
Please see below for activation dates of student after-hours extension numbers:Â

As we strive for continuous quality improvement in the Prosthodontics Laboratory, it is important that we gather feedback from key stakeholders ie. treatment providers and supervising instructors on a regular basis. Please complete the Prosthodontics Laboratory - Feedback Form each time services are received. Thank you!
Please continue using the Prosthodontics Laboratory - Case Tracking Form when submitting cases to the lab. This form must be submitted, in addition to the hardcopy axiUm laboratory prescription form, for case tracking purposes.
Dolphin can now be accessed through axiUm's Imaging module. All clinical photographs must be uploaded immediately from SD cards and stored in Dolphin. Please see these instructions for details on how to import photos into Dolphin. Since clinical photographs are considered personal health information, please ensure photographs are permanently deleted from SD cards after being uploaded to Dolphin.

Please see these instructions for patient indications and contraindications, as well as how to set up and tear down the Bioclearâ„¢ Blasters in the OHC.
