Dear Staff, Faculty and Students,
WE DID IT! We managed to work, learn and provide excellent patient care during a pandemic. Please take some time to reflect and feel proud of all of your hardwork and sacrifice.Â
Are you planning to travel home over the winter break? Will you be spending time with family? Will you remain in Edmonton/on campus?Â
Follow these important guidelines to keep yourself, your friends and family safe over the break. Alberta has declared a State of Public Health Emergency is under strict public health orders which include:
Know the restrictions in your destination town/city/province/country before you depart
You must follow all Alberta travel restrictions upon your return - this includes a 14-day mandatory quarantine even if you are part of the International Border Testing Pilot Program
While travelling, even in a private vehicle from anyone outside of your household you must wear a mask for the entire trip, maintain at least 2 meters from all others when possible and clean your hands often
Absolutely NO GATHERINGS inside or outside (this includes holiday celebrations)
No hosting anyone in your home who is from out of town, province or country
Should you or anyone you are in close contact with test positive for COVID-19, please contact the IPC Team by emailing dentIPC@ualberta.ca
Be prepared for isolation should you or someone else in your home test positive or be required to quarantine due to an exposure. Click here for advice from Dr. Lenora Saxinger on how to be prepared.
On behalf of the IPC Team, Dr. Khaled Altabtbaei and Ronna Richardson-Lozano, we wish you a safe, restful and very well deserved break.
Have IPC Questions, Concerns or Positive Comments? Email dentIPC@ualberta.ca.
Sincerely,
Dr. Khaled Altabtbaei, IPC Officer
