It appears the double end connectors attached to the disposable nasal hood are accidentally being thrown out. Double end connectors cost $28!
After patient care, when cleaning up the operatory, treatment providers need ONLY remove the disposable nasal hood from the tubing.  Please discard only the disposable nasal hood shown on the right. The tubing itself with all of the connectors still attached, must be returned to the Dispensary's Soiled Counter.
Three new weight scales are available in the OHC. These scales automatically calculate BMI. Â
The scales are stationed in the alcoves with simple to follow instructions posted nearby. There is a slightly different process for persons with height less than 1.2 metres (3' 4½ ").
Please see these instructions for more details:
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the SoD HSE Coordinator, Ronna Richardson-Lozano.
The Screening Form has been divided into two tabs:
PDI/PSR
PROSTH CONSULT
Details related to Outcome of Prosthodontic Consult must be documented here
Only assigned prosthodontists can approve this tab of the screening form
Patient signature is required after reviewing outcome with them
Students/faculty/staff requiring a wheelchair for patients must request it from the Dispensary - the wheelchair will be signed out to the individual requesting it. Â
Just as with other equipment loaned out by Dispensary, the cost of the wheelchair will be incurred by the individual it is signed out to if it is not returned to the Dispensary. Â
Thank you for your cooperation.
Adjacent to the bins of clean overgowns, there is one bin labelled "UNUSED DAMAGED / STAINED OVERGOWNS ONLY". Â
Students, faculty and staff are reminded that these bins are for unused overgowns that are damaged or badly stained - these bins are NOT for soiled overgowns and towels.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Patients requiring impressions for diagnostic purposes must first undergo intraoral scanning with the 3Shape Trios Intraoral Scanner.  Impressions for diagnostic casts may be made, if required, only once intraoral scanning is completed and saved, The resulting diagnostic casts DO NOT need to be scanned as the intraoral scan has already been completed and saved.
If, however, impressions for diagnostic casts were made without having the patient undergo intraoral scanning, the diagnostic casts (once separated and trimmed) must be scanned with the 3Shape Lab Scanner in the Prosthodontics Laboratory.
We would also greatly appreciate it if students could tidy up the KEC Student Lab by discarding old lab cases ie. working casts, if the case has been completed. Please return any implant components related to working casts to the Prosthodontics Laboratory.
Please remember that the Prosthodontics Laboratory is open from 7:45 - 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 - 4:15 p.m.
Please contact Paul Ladell with any questions or concerns about using the 3Shape Lab Scanner.
Thank you for your cooperation.
