As per the SoD Radiology Code of Practice regarding x-ray exposure protocols, no treatment provider shall be permitted to hold the patient or hold the sensor/PSP during an x-ray exposure. Treatment providers must leave the room/operatory prior to the exposure. This is part of the general requirements and recommendations of Canada Safety Code 30 to ensure occupational health protection and safety.Â
As per the AHS Enhanced Masking Directive, all students, staff, faculty, volunteers and contracted service providers are required to mask when they are in an area where they may come into contact with patients. This applies to all levels of KEC.
Wearing a mask is optional in areas where there is no contact with patients (i.e., staff break rooms, meeting rooms).
