REMINDER: CBCT
If you believe a review or amendment of a CBCT report is necessary, please submit your request to dentcbct@ualberta.ca clearly outlining your concern and the rationale for the review. Kindly note that the interpretive report is prepared in accordance with the standards and preferences of the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologist and is not customized for any specific clinical discipline.
To maintain confidentiality, please refrain from including any patient identifiers or imaging screenshots in your email. The chart number and the date of the scan will be sufficient to locate the volume and proceed with the next steps.
For additional resources, students can access a variety of guidance documents and forms via the link in axiUm DentraNet / Radiology
ATTENTION: AluwaxÂ
Please be advised that Aluwax has been discontinued and is no longer available for regular use.
At this time, there is no direct replacement; however, the OHC is actively exploring alternative solutions. In the interim, Aluwax has been removed from sundry carts and will be available only through the dispensary with instructor approval.
To conserve the remaining stock, Aluwax will be dispensed in half-piece portions until supplies are fully depleted.
REMINDER: OVERGOWN
After removing your overgown, please place it in the blue laundry bags. Let’s work together to keep our space clean—do not leave your soiled overgown in the changing rooms. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!
ATTENTION: Flu VaccinationÂ
The Rexall team will be in the Oral Surgery suite on October 20 from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM to administer flu vaccinations. Outside of this designated time, Rexall staff will also be available to provide flu vaccinations on a drop-in basis on the first floor (Rexall location) from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM for both staff and students.
Please note that the Alberta Government has changed the administration process for COVID-19 vaccines in the province. All COVID-19 vaccines will now be administered through public health. Staff and students wishing to receive a COVID-19 vaccine should call 811 to schedule an appointment at the designated public health sites. Availability for Phase 1 COVID-19 vaccines begins on October 1, specifically for healthcare workers and students training in health facilities.

We wanted to share a comment we received from one of our patients through our SoD OHC Patient Satisfaction Survey:
"Going to the school of dentistry was a brilliant move. Who knew my teeth had so many secrets? They spotted issues I didn't even know existed; I think my molars are still in shock! Fantastic work, keep those mirrors and drills shining!"
