In order to avoid unnecessary exposure to x-rays, please review the patient's EHR and confirm that there are no previous images available before prescribing and taking any radiographs for patients. It is important that all Treatment Providers in the OHC follow the Guidelines for the Prescription of Dental X-ray Examinations from the Radiation Protection in Dentistry - Recommended Safety Procedures for the Use of Dental X-Ray Equipment - Safety Code 30 (2022).
Please note:Â all 2D radiographs are saved in Sidexis. For any previous CBCT information, please refer to the Tx History in axiUm.
Please ensure all annual exam and perio-related recalls are accurately entered in axiUm's Patient Card Recall Box (toothbrush icon). Inaccurate entries significantly impact day to day operations for those responsible for scheduling patients, not to mention how inaccurate data negatively impacts consistency of patient care.Â
1. Please ensure the following are reviewed and updated at each perio appointment:
Perio tab of the CAF in "forms"
Periodontal Classification
Future Scheduling of Periodontal Treatment
2. Please use the Perio Template Note (DDS & DH Students) when entering treatment notes related to perio into the "Tx History":
The Recall Card is populated by the information in the "S" section of the PARTS note
Next periodontal appointment: (Recall Type) (Recall Interval)
3. Prior to dismissing patients, please check the Recall Card - please DELETE old/out-dated recalls:
Each Recall Card should have the following future-dated recalls:
one PERIO-RELATED recall type with the appropriate interval, andÂ
one EXAM recall type, with the appropriate interval.
