Participants will be able to:
Identify the changes from the CoSB, and key purposes and processes of the SAIP
Describe the role of instructors and how to report academic integrity concerns
Outline the key elements of the PIP
This session will review the new U of A Student Academic Integrity Policy (SAIP), including its purpose, the process of dealing with academic integrity issues and roles of instructors related to academic integrity. Additionally, the Practicum Intervention Policy will be reviewed in context of the new SAIP.
Participants will be able to:
Describe the ASC/FASPC process and requirements for student progression, promotion and graduation, including the appeal process.
Recognise the key academic regulations for the MPSoD DDS and AP programs.
State the key MPSoD exam policies.
This session will review the current MPSoD academic regulations for the DDS and AP programs. The Academic Standing Committee (ASC) and Faculty Academic Standing and Promotion Committee (FASPC) roles and the process of student progress, promotion and graduation will be shared. MPSoD exam policies designed to support academic integrity will also be described.
Participants will be able to:
Describe the rationale and purpose and obligations behind remediation experiences
Correlate remediation activities with MPSoD academic regulations
Recognise examples of needed remediation and assess the quality of remediation plans
This session will review remediation as a pedagogical process and also the rationale and purpose of this educational process. Design of student assessment and consideration of high stakes assessments in context of academic regulations will be examined. Examples of types of remediation plans, processes and expectations of students and faculty will also be shared.
