Windows 10 reached it's End of Life in October 2025. Microsoft no longer provides "free software updates from Windows Update, technical assistance, or security fixes for Windows 10." It is strongly recommended to upgrade to Windows 11 if not already done so to ensure that you are receiving new updates and security fixes.
For Windows users, make sure your device supports Device encryption (via a Microsoft Account on Windows Home edition) or Bitlocker Drive encryption (on Windows Pro, Enterprise or Education edition).
For Mac users, FileVault can be used to encrypt your device. It is included on all Mac devices.
More information on encryption (including how to encrypt your devices) can be found on the Encryption page.
For security reasons, Dental Software will not be installed locally on personal computers. Instead all Dental Software must be accessed through Virtual Computer Service (VCS). In order to access VCS, Citrix Workspace must be installed on your machine. The latest versions of the Citrix Workspace App are compatible with (as of May 2025):
Windows 11, 10
macOS 27 Golden Gate, macOS 26 Tahoe (up to 26.7), macOS 15 Sequoia, macOS 14 Sonoma
Android versions 14.x, and later.
iOS 17.0 or later
iPadOS 17.0 or later
ChromeOS version 149, 150 and 151
In order to connect to the University's Wi-Fi, your device must meet the minimum software version below:
Microsoft Windows 8.1, with all the latest Microsoft updates.
Apple MacOS 10.13.6.
Apple iOS 11.
Android version 6.0.1.
If your device does meet these requirements, you will need to connect to the University's guest network which does not offer the same reliability and speed.
Instructions for connecting to Eduroam networks on campus can be found here.
