My artwork portrays my experiences as a child through the depiction of a new toy bear I received when I was younger. This childhood toy may be tattered and worn today, but it was the highlight of my bright little world as a child, and a representation of the blissful moments of being a kid. I wished to channel the same joy of my own childhood with a bold shadow against the soft, baby-blue of the environment. The texture on the bear, through the use of a pumice medium mixed with acrylic paint, brings the past to life; taking me back to my childhood world.
