I wanted to capture an image of obsession: how this type of feeling can be destructive and can create a loss of self-esteem, fear of losing control. I’ve attempted to convey melancholy by incorporating a tired young girl drowning inside a tight and contained space, whilst gold streams are pouting out of her head and heart. The jellyfish symbolizes the pain and damage associated with obsession and the bold pink background and foam surrounding the girls head emphasizes the overpowering feeling of obsession.
