The students were inspired by the quick, intuitive work of the impressionists, in particular the Waterlily series by Monet. Watercolours were used wet-in-wet to represent the water and to suggest reflections. Then acrylic paint was applied in a painterly fashion whilst the paper was still damp to add waterlilies and willows.
