Australian artist Sidney Nolan was the inspiration for this artwork. There was rich historical discussion during the creation of this piece and the life and times of Ned Kelly generated great interest. Acrylic paints were used on cover paper and the artist diluted the paints to receive the desired colours. Interestingly, the artist added red strokes of colour which represent Ned's plight at the time. Quite different from the original.
