In this unit, the students looked at the art of Mandalas. They explored the reasons and meanings for creating this type of work and the different methods employed by various cultures. The students then learnt how to create a spiral grid using a compass and ruler. Using this grid they designed a finished Mandala which they could then colour using any medium they wished. Some of these pieces have been used in this collaborative artwork which shows how even when we are given the same starting point we can create very different results.
