Grade four students pay homage to the Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani (1884 - 1920) who painted and sculpted the human face.

His portraits convey his subjects’ personalities while his trademark stylisation and use of recurring motifs such as the long necks and almond-shaped eyes - unifies the look. In the style of Modigliani, students created their own self-portraits using oil pastels on black paper.
