I chose to paint this scene when our painting class did landscape as a topic. I chose it because I loved the challenge of depicting the tones and textures of the rocky mountains. I also enjoy painting clouds. I used a palette knife to create texture in the clouds and finished them with later brush work. I love the reflection of the moon in the mountain lake, as it ties together the two dominant elements of the land and sky of this mountain scene.
