My intention for this piece was to communicate a unique way of Expressionist language. We generally use loud and obvious quotations to converse. Every so often I come across my Nonno, not needing to explain how he feels verbally as he can communicate with one simple hand gesture. I have used pallet-knife painting to incorporate the many layers and depth of “the look” each colour laying amongst his natural tones connecting with a distinct memory
