‘Gold Rush’ is a mixed media sculpture using newspaper, masking tape, acrylic paint, paper, foil, and wire. The artwork is comprised of two parts and includes a 3-dimensional sculpture alongside a playing card that lists strengths, weaknesses and habitat similar to trading games such as Pokémon. The artist first deigned her mythical creature and then set about crafting the shape from newspaper. Once bound with masking tape, details were applied completing the creature ‘Gold Rush’.
