Reaiah, Year 5

St Peter Apostle Primary School, Hoppers Crossing

The student explored the work of the Italian artist, Amadeo Modigliani. She looked at the proportions of the human face and how Modigliani skewed those proportions to create his own unique style. She used oil pastel on black paper to create a portrait of her teacher using the proportions employed by Modigliani. The portrait needed to include the main elements of a Modigliani portrait: Oval-shaped face, long neck, almond-shaped eyes, a long nose and pursed lips.
