Plasticine Food Sculptures

Plasticine Food Sculptures

Achol, Year 5

St Theresa's Primary School, Albion

In art, we’re learning about the elements shape, colour, form, texture and pattern. Our activity was to use our modelling skills and techniques to create a three-dimensional model of foods of our choice. The reason for this was because we were investigating food hygiene/safety and preparation in inquiry. We made a meal that was prepared hygienically and safely. First we completed a sketch of the food platter we wanted to create. The techniques we used to create our still life sculpture were rolling, pinching, flattening, modelling, marking and texture. Our success criteria was to see if we could use our modelling/sculpting skills and techniques to construct examples of foods, and to see if we could select the appropriate tools and techniques required when adding detail to my artwork.
