The artists applied their knowledge about Matisse’s art style to work on a design for a Confirmation Chasuble. Bishop Mark Edwards OMI commissioned the Year 5/6 students of Our Lady of The Southern Cross Primary School to design and construct a Confirmation Chasuble which was worn at their Confirmation in August.

The student designs have been adapted and used to create ‘one’ design for the Chasuble.The garment and Stole construction is by Simran Plahe.

The front and back of the Chasuble provides the viewer with abstracted and minimalistic imagery with references to Matisse’s Chasubles. The symbolisms and images relate directly to Confirmation.
