The focus that I explore in my artwork is to visually capture my understanding of my own appearance, and how I prefer not to hide my physical flaws. Primarily, I aimed to focus on subject matter of beauty products, makeup, and myself. I focused my final artworks on challenging the beauty standards created by the media, through showcasing my flaws (acne and body hair) as well as my natural appearance in the form of painting. By doing this, I hope to create a sense of confrontation, and show that these imperfections are as beautiful and should be normalised.
