After exploring various options I chose a simple circular shape for my bag as I wanted the focus to be on the surface decoration. However, I used various shades of blue and green silk fibres to combine when making the silk paper, so as to represent the colours of a Peacock. I designed a simplified image of a peacock for the surface decoration, highlighted with areas of embroidery in gold. I repeated the use of gold in the tassel, button closing and plaited handle to bring an element of glimmer to my work.
